PROJECT LUNA
Project Luna is a LEAP project that aims to raise awareness on Persons on the Autism Spectrum (PAS) by providing befriending opportunities. Through our weekly programme, we hope to provide our beneficiaries with positive and memorable experiences, thereby uplifting their mental well-being. Looking ahead, our long-term goal is to better support their integration into the community.
WHAT WE DO
We are currently partnering with Saint Andrew’s Autism School and Saint Andrew’s Day Activity Centre, where our volunteers would engage in befriending sessions with students aged 10 to 18.
Each of our volunteers are attached to one class, where they get to experience supporting the teachers in managing the students through various communication and regulation techniques. Once a week, our volunteers get to interact with and learn from our PAS students, which contributes towards our objective of planning an outing for our students to go on. These outings will be catered to the needs of our students and enable them to apply the skills they learnt in class to the community.
