TEACH!

TEACH! stands for The Educators At Chen Su Lan Home.

Situated at 202 Serangoon Garden Way, Chen Su Lan Methodist Children's Home houses children around the age of 5 to 16 years old. The Home's mission is to provide care and welfare to disadvantaged children, especially those who have special needs or face guardianship issues. The Home takes in community members regardless of background, race or religion.

what we do

TEACH! is a one to one tutoring programme that takes place every week. Our volunteers head down to the children's home for tutoring sessions and befriend the children. Besides regular sessions, we also organise special events for the children, such as Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year celebrations. These special events provide opportunities for the children to gain knowledge through fun and games, as well as for them to get to know their volunteers outside of the usual weekly tutoring.

HEAR FROM OUR VOLUNTEERS

I joined TEACH because I believe in making quality and equitable learning opportunities accessible and meaningful for disadvantaged children! as a volunteer tutor, I hope to not only deliver effective teaching but also befriend and build a supportive relationship with my tutee 😀

- Ashleigh, Internal Chairperson
I joined TEACH because I want to make a positive impact on students' educational journeys and provide them with companionship. Through my previous volunteer experiences, I have witnessed the value of forming genuine connections with students over time, and I am eager to continue fostering such relationships at TEACH. Another reason I chose to join TEACH is to meet like-minded peers in uni 😛
